“The aromatic qualities of the fig tree bring the warmth of the Mediterranean coast to life. Sitting beneath the shade of leafy branches, a moment of repose is taken from the endless lazy days of high summer. Sitting on sun-baked earth, reclined against an ancient trunk, the woody scent of stems and leaves contrast against the jammy sweetness of sap and fruit. Plucking a ripe, purple fig that hangs nearby, fingers become sticky with the bright red juice.” - ROJA DOVE.
